Attention to Engineering and Component Details
Leads to Powerful Performance
MEC’s advanced single beam design provides an extremely rigid elevating system with less deflection and greatly increased operator production. The patented
Powerlift² Elevating Design is a unique combination of wide beams and large, hardened chrome pins that outperform conventional double-beam aerial lift designs. Teflon-coated bearings, create a large
load-bearing surface in scissor pivot areas. Each scissor beam is CNC line bored to insure precise tolerance. The results are increased efficiency, greater operator comfort, reduced weight and lower maintenance costs. That’s good news for both Rental Companies and End Users.
Operators also appreciate the Convenient Controls With Adjustable Mount that work equally well for both right and left handed drivers. Move the Controller where you need it. It can be easily re-positioned for maximum comfort and accessibility. MEC controllers feature a single switch selection for both drive and lift functions. Steering control is mounted in the top of the joystick for easy one-handed operation. The High Torque Power Package, standard on all MEC scissors, allows the operator to maneuver over high grade surfaces with just the flick of a toggle switch. The Extreme Duty Controller is made from sturdy steel using easy to replace, military-grade watertight switches. No expensive circuit boards to replace. Controllers are removable via heavy duty quick disconnect with extended strain relief.
Large, High Capacity Decks, and extra-long. roll-out platform extensions provide ample space for workers, tools, and materials. The high-capacity extensions feature concealed, “debris free” rollers that maximize deck space. Operators can choose to lock deck at incremental stops or extend to full length.
Many of the features that make MEC scissors such good value, are out of sight, but they will be appreciated over time with fewer job site breakdowns. Specially designed Swivel Fittings provide years of trouble-free service because the fittings move with the drive motor when the machine makes its impressive 90 degree steer command. Other manufacturers use fittings that do not swivel. This results in hydraulic line fatigue due to binding and continued stress at the connection. Heavy duty Wire Looms are used throughout. Connectors used outside compartments are the waterproof type. Connectors used inside compartments are self-draining to prevent condensation build-up and corrosion.
Common Components that are Easily Accessible Simplify
Servicing. All mechanical and electrical components on MEC scissor lifts are easy to get to without raising the platform or swinging out doors MEC compartment doors lift off for easy maintenance. Components are logically grouped and wiring is numbered for easy reference.
A Balanced Energy System™ with low amperage draw and hydraulic pressures, significantly reduces system stresses on all MEC scissor lifts. This provides longer component life and more battery capacity for operation beyond the normal workday. This Extended Duty Cycle increases worker production. Industrial grade solid-state battery chargers are used on MEC machines. These chargers automatically adapt and operate from 85-250 volts. The charger also protects itself from voltage spikes or over-amp situations.
MEC is serious about safety. In 1982, MEC was the first manufacturer to equip their scissor lifts with a patented
Pothole Protection System™. This unique, but simple mechanical system helps prevent
tip-overs caused by machines being accidentally driven into a depression or hole. It increases operator safety and owner security.
